Invitation Letter
Dear Defense Industry Stakeholders,
In todays security and combat environment, sniper elements are evaluated not only for their high-precision shooting ability, but also for their capabilities in areas such as ballistic modelling, environmental data analysis, sensor integration, and network-enabled targeting. Modern sniper operations have evolved into a system architecture in which the shooter, weapon system, ammunition, optics, meteorological sensors and command-and-control elements work together in an integrated manner.
The Boran Sniper Competition is an advanced practical platform that tests this system approach in a real shooting scenario.
Due to UAV integration, target detection, distance verification and post-firing effect analysis processes are evaluated in real time. Therefore, the competition measures not only individual shooting performance but also the overall effectiveness of the detection-observation, targeting chain and post-firing evaluation processes. The Boran 7 Competition held in 2025 brought together 21 countries from three continents and over 80 snipers, providing a technical validation environment that generated real user feedback for the optical, ballistic software and locally produced weapon systems used in the field.
The Boran 8 Sniper Competition, to be held between 12 and 18 October 2026, is structured as an international technical evaluation platform where the shooter–sensor–platform–data chain is integrated, conducted with real ammunition, at real distances, and with measurable performance standards.
The event, organised with the theme of ‘Sensitivity Beyond Borders’, will bring together 26 countries from three continents and approximately 100 snipers with defence industry companies on the same operational platform.
Boran 8 is a distinguished technical showcase combining human factors with advanced engineering, algorithmic ballistic solutions with field decision-making mechanisms, and exploration elements with precision firepower.
